Law Firm Business Interruption Claims: Point–Counterpoint
Presented By: DRI's Insurance Law Committee and LawyerGuard
DRI is not only the Voice of the Defense Bar, it is also an invaluable resource for its members in an immensely difficult time. While the hospitality industry is making headlines and has been one of the industries most profoundly affected by COVID-19, the legal industry is certainly taking its lumps. This is especially so for litigators, as court operations have been greatly streamlined and it is difficult to say when we will have our next jury trials. As a result, many law firms will turn to their insurance carriers, asserting business income loss claims. Some already have and are in litigation with their carriers. Are law firms entitled to insurance coverage for their lost revenue? Jonathan and Rick will address one side of the debate, while Mary, a policyholder lawyer will address the other side. The audience will be treated to a spirited discussion.
