Welcome and Introductions/Overview of the NLRA and NLRB for Non-Union Employers


The National Labor Relations Board is the federal agency charged with enforcing the National Labor Relations Act. This session will address:

  1. the rights and responsibilities of non-union employers under the Act,
  2. Unfair Labor Practices and related remedies,
  3. Procedures and best practices in defending ULP Charges; and
  4. Special issues including the NLRB’s current independent contractor analysis, the NLRB’s partnership with the DOL and FTC, and circumstances under which employers should assert NLRA pre-emption in response to state law tort claims.
