Cases involving sexual trauma can be particularly challenging to defend given the nature of the injury and the juxtaposition of our human nature to be sympathetic and the need to be an advocate for defendants accused of allowing these types of injuries to occur. Using their experience defending sex trafficking lawsuits, the speakers will discuss the importance of understanding the impact of trauma and how empathy toward litigants can not only be used as an effective strategy in litigation but can also showcase our humanity when defending these types of difficult cases.
